How to Request a Building-Materials Quote from a BOQ or Material List
A building-materials quote becomes easier to prepare when the request contains the same information the supplier needs to fulfil it. A BOQ or material list is useful, but the site location and timing still matter.
Include the product description
State whether you need cement, blocks, pavers, kerbs or another material. Include the size, grade, colour, class, unit or specification from the project document. For example, blocks may need to be identified by width, while pavers may need thickness and colour.
Include the quantity
Send the quantity and the unit used in the BOQ. If the quantity is still an estimate, say so. MR DGN can confirm availability and pricing for the requested materials, while the project engineer or quantity surveyor remains responsible for the project specification and final construction quantities.
Include the site information
Give the Asaba or Okpanam location, access restrictions, preferred delivery date, receiving contact and whether the order should be delivered in one batch or stages.
Ask for the quote in writing
The reply should identify the material, quantity, price, delivery charge, total, validity period and payment instructions. Request an invoice or receipt when the order proceeds.
Send a photograph, spreadsheet or typed list on WhatsApp to request a current MR DGN materials quote.
